Open coil

Each spring works independently and moulds to the contours of your body, offering support without ‘roll together’. As promoted by the Hippo and the duck in the ads, this type can be ideal for couples of different sizes.

Visco-elastic or ‘Memory Foam’
Memory foam is a breathable material that is heat responsive and allows the mattress to accurately mould to your body shape. Memory Foam Mattresses promote good circulation, and being Hypo-allergenic are ideal for asthma sufferers or those with sensitive skin.

Latex
Latex is a hypo-allergenic polymer material that adjusts well to the contours of the body. This very durable material is highly resilient and breathable and is perfect for a good night’s sleep.

Choosing the right mattress size
We’re afraid size really does matter. The bigger, the better, and a modern queen or king size bed does not take up much more room than a traditional double but can offer a more restful night, especially if your partner is prone to move around! Always make sure you measure your room before you set out to find the perfect bed.

Does quality really need to cost more?
We all love a bargain so by all means shop around for the best value, but only rarely in this life will the lowest price give you the best result. Prices reflect the choice of materials used, the quality of construction and the size of any mattress. A good mattress should last between five and ten years so make sure you get what you pay for.
